Salam Alaykum,
Here we are a bit late, my favourite videos this week with a new category “Vimeo” in addition to Islam in under and over 10 minutes, Youtube, Shortfilm, Motion Graphics and Parkour.
Wa Salam,

Salam Alaykum,
my last longer post in German was about child abuse, I mentioned the Vatican and the extra responsibility that I feel religious people have to safeguard the innocence of children.
Today’s khutba was on the same topic of child abuse, advising us to look at the Prophet saw. as role model to see how he acted in all of his roles as father, as leader, as teacher, as business man, as a volunteer etc. etc. I wanted to upload it but I don’t think it’s worth it, the volume is way too low.
Abdullah ibn Shidad ra. relates that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah saw. came to us either during the noon or afternoon prayers and he was carrying Hassan or Hussain. The Prophet saw. proceeded to the front and put him down and made the takbir for the salah. During the salah, he made a long sajdah. I raised my head and saw the child on the back of the Messenger of Allah saw. while he was in sajdah. I returned to my sajdah. When the Messenger of Allah saw. finished the salah, the people said to him: ‘O Messenger of Allah, you prostrated during your salah so long that we suspected you were thinking about some matter or you were receiving some revelation.’ He saw said: ‘None of that happened but my son was resting and I hated to rush him until he had finished what he desired.”‘
“He (the Prophet (saws)) was praying. When he performed sajdah, Hasan and Hussein jumped onto his back. When the people tried to stop them, he gestured them to leave the two alone. After offering his prayer, he placed them in his lap and said, ‘Whoever loves me should love these two.'” [Reported by Ibn Khuzaimah and Baihaqi]
The Messenger of Allah (saws), also said: “Treat your child equally, treat your child equally, treat your child equally.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Ibn Hibban]
He has showed his caring for children over and over again, his admonishment to people treating them unfairly or being unloving. He saw. is the best of role models if we choose to look at his life in detail, not just as The Messenger of Allah who we can never imitate but also as a guidance for us in all of our stages in life, all of our problems. As the Khatib said, his society had problems with the burying of female babies, with substance abuse in form of alcohol for example. He saw. faced social injustice on a small and big scale and sought to fight it wherever he met it.
What are we doing to fight it? Are we doing enough?

Salam Alaikum,
The hot sun rises
Thanking God for the rain clouds
Wait we’re in England
…
Somewhere someone dies
No clean water can be found
We complain daily
…
Don’t you think about
The Colourless sip of Gold
Favours of your lord
…
Children are laughing
The splashing sound of water
A smile on your face
…
So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny?
